Chapter 03
Piece of the puzzle


Tillis begins undressing to go to sleep, slipping of her knickers and shirt pausing for a moment in-front of the mirror as her eyes are drawn towards the scar below her stomach. It looked dark in the dim light giving it a more visible presence, She runs her paw along it and bites her lip as she trys to remember just where the scar came from, it didn't look like a wound the edges were too perfect it looked more like it was done on purpose but for what reason? Whatever it was she couldn't piece together what little memory she has of when she was younger.
Tillis turns around and flicks the light switch off before climbing into her bed and resting her head on her pillow, Quietly the door opens and Lisa makes her way into the bedroom closing it behind her, Tillis stays silent and watches her as she walks to her bed in the dark only illuminated by the red glow from the stereo in the far corner of the room. Watching Lisa undress herself sliding her jeans and knickers to the floor and unbuttoning her cardigan, Tillis couldn't help but gaze there was something so familiar about Lisa but she just didn't know what, Looking at her golden red hair which reached down to her bottom as she makes her way to her bed as she slowly climbed in Tillis got a quick glimpse of her lower stomach Lisa had the same exact scar in the same exact place Tillis has on herself, Tillis gasps quietly but Lisa heard.
Lisa: "Oh Tillis I'm sorry I tried not to wake you"
Tillis: "N...no it's OK Lisa, G...g'night"


Lisa: "Good night Tillis" as shes tucks herself into bed resting her head on her pillow and closing her eyes.
"Hmm she has the same mark I bare" Tillis thinks to herself turning to lay on her back and look at the ceiling "So there is something familiar about her, But why?" closing her eyes slowly.

"You there!!!" a deep mans voice shouts from the other side of the room "What are you doing here on you're own?!" as Tillis stops in-front of what looked like a containment pod which stood above her "U...Umm I was lost" Tillis says shaking as the man moves closer, he was tall very tall a good 6 feet higher than Tillis, his features were difficult to make out in the darkness he seemed to be wearing a long cloak with a hood covering his head "This is no place for you to be wandering about little...thing" the man replies taking her by the paw, His hand was rough though not covered in fine fur like Tillis's it was like leather like skin. "I am taking you back to your pod, you know its not safe for you to be wandering around a place like this for someone your size and importance" as he then lifts her up by the waist with one of his hands and holds her close to his body. Making his way back to her room through two large black metal doors. Stopping in-front of her containment pod then placing her onto the blanket inside "Don't go wandering of again as it may not be me who will find you, not everyone here will be willing to keep you alive"
As Tillis looks up scared through the domed glass as he closes the door on her. She curls up into a ball crying and cold, there was nothing she could use to wrap herself up in she was naked and only had a number of bandages wrapped over her, bandages which had blood on them, The blanket she lay on was riddled with dry patches of blood also. Crying she wondered if she would ever leave this place let alone leave this place alive. As she wakes up in what seemed like morning but she couldn't tell as there were no clocks or any sign of light in her room, the only light emitting from the lamp inside her pod.
A man slowly opens the door and walks in as he opens the door a red light floods the room, Looking through the glass she See's many pods like her but unoccupied, utensils hang from the walls on hooks things like scalpels and knives they glistened in the red light which quickly darkened as the door draw shut. The man slowly walks towards Tilis's pod, looking through the glass at Tillis, His face was long and narrow his skin was wrinkled and his hair was for what little hair he had was gray almost white. He lifts the door on her pod and reaches a hand inside grabbing Tillis by her right arm, she squirms but his grip was incredibly strong she couldn't pull away, as he reaches in with his other hand holding a large syringe with a long needle on the end Tillis starts to panic she shrieks with horror and starts crying, the man however ignored her actions and proceeded to press the needle into her upper arm and injecting the substance into her. He then let's go of her arm and closes the pod door on her leaving her curled up and crying.
She starts becoming very sleeping due to the drug that he injected her eyes start to blur then begin to close.


As she begins to wake rubbing her eyes she finds her self laying inside her pod on the blanket which was wet, wet with blood, her blood. Looking down there is a large bandage taped across her lower stomach and blood seeping through the bandages and running down her body.
"U...ugh! OUCH!" she cries as she pulls herself up to look out of the glass dome.
The room was dark as always however one of the pods light was on though there was no one inside of it. Trying to come to terms with what had actually happened to her she begins to feel feint, struggling to keep herself upright her vision goes dark and she passes out.

Suddenly shes woken up by someone lifting the door on her pod, Rubbing her eyes she looks at the stranger it was an Anthro she was feline in looks and had light golden hair and dark brown fur "I'm getting you out of here" she says unbuttoning her shirt and wrapping it around Tillis then scooping her up into her arms "Be quiet OK it's not going to be easy getting out of here" as she preses her back up against the wall and pushing the door slightly to see down the dark hallway bathed in red light.
Quickly she sprints down the hall sliding to a stop just before a turn then pressing her back up against the corner and peering around it "Shoot! there's 3 of the bastards" she says reaching her free hand to her crossbow attached to her belt, She pulls Tillis closer to her body holding her with her left arm "hold on tight OK" as she jumps out from the corner and starts running towards the three figures at the end, Suddenly there's gun fire dodging their bullets as she unloads bolts towards them, two of them fall to the ground but the other walks towards them as they draw closer she leaps into the air holding her right foot out and slamming the figure in his neck dropping it to the ground landing on top as she stamps her foot hard into its neck twisting it followed by the crunching sound of bones snapping "Hmph" she says as Tillis peers out of the shirt wrapped around her at the three bodies on the ground, they looked like men, they wore masks and had wires and tubing coming out of their body and appeared to be wearing what looked like black rubber suits "Drones" the Anthro says "Born entirely to extinguish our race, they feel little pain and always attack in numbers" as she makes her way to the air vent above them. She jumps up grabbing hold of the edge pulling herself up but just as they are almost inside a number of footsteps can be heard running down the hall followed by several rifle shots "Argh shit!!!" she hisses as a bullet catches her in the left leg pulling herself up into the shaft. Pulling herself along through the shaft with Tillis still clinging onto her side "OK we've gotta get out of here there is not much time left" the Anthro says stopping before a grate above a dark hallway.
Smashing the grate with her paw and dropping out into the hallway "That's our way out" she says limping towards the door at the end, Making their way through the door out to the open world. It was dark the sky was a dark red and the moon was bright amber lighting what little there was left of the city they had emerged into, Making their way across the broken dusty street she looks back towards the door they came from "Shit there's more of them!" she says as eight maybe ten more drones come walking out the door carrying rifles. Darting down an ally to their left as she tries her best to sprint with a wounded leg "UH Uh...Argh!" as she trips "I can't go on, you will have to get there by yourself little one" She says lifting Tillis up in-front of her "Hide in that wrecked car they wont find you there, they don't know you've gone missing they only want me! when its safe to come out make your way down the ally and towards the mountain in the distance, get the the foot of the mountain before dawn or you won't make it!!!" she says as Tillis reluctantly crawls under the wrecked car and hides behind the wheel.
The Anthro pulls herself to her feet and looks back down the ally where the drones stand, she begins to walk slowly towards them limping as she drags her foot "ROAR!!!" she shouts as she suddenly picks up speed and begins sprints towards them jumping to the left onto the wall then jumping from the wall into the pack of drones gunfire can be heard along with a scream from the Anthro when BOOOOM!!! the whole group of them go up in a huge explosion, Tillis looks on frightened, wiping the tears from her eyes she wraps herself up in the shirt again and waits until everything has gone quiet.

Looking out from under the car everything seemed quiet as Tillis picks herself up and looks towards the sky "It's orange now I don't have long left I have to move it" she says to herself.
Quickly she starts running down the ally to the empty street ahead looking to her right she See's the mountain the Anthro told her about, running down the wrecked street and hopping over debris from fallen buildings or broken cars as she makes her way to the end of the street where it suddenly stops and becomes a huge baron wasteland full of burnt dead trees, she slowly walks across the sandy plain and into what looked like was once a river which had since been completely dried out. She starts sprinting along as fast as her small legs could take her as her eyes are fixated on the mountain in the distance, suddenly her foot catches an object as she trips over sliding on her front through the sand coming to a stop in-front of a very burnt out tree, Picking herself up she looks back at what she tripped over thinking it was a rock but as she stepped closer and looked at it in more detail it was in-fact the skull of a creature...it looked Anthro like but it was to narrow to be an Anthros skull it was badly burnt but as she looked up she noticed that the whole area was covered in these skulls along with many other bones all scorched too, stepping back she hears her foot crunch into one of the skull "Oh my" she says looking down as her foot sits within the skull she stepped on to "These look like the skulls from those creatures who I was with" she thought to herself then looking at the sky which had turned to a lighter shade of orange "Oh no I don't have long left at all" she says as she feels the warmth in the air begin to rise.
Quickly she starts to run, running faster than she had done before as the mountain began to fill her vision, She could see halfway up the mountain that the sun had started to rise as it was bathed in sunlight. She stops at the foot of the mountain but there's nothing immediate there apart from the many bones and dead trees which littered the area "What now, where do I go!?" she says frustrated she kicks one of the skulls at her feet which bounces of a dead tree then breaking into several pieces. Suddenly at the foot of the mountain the large rock in-front of her a small opening appears at the bottom of it. A woman's voice calls out "Hey there, Are you Tillis!?" as Tillis walks slowly towards the opening "U...uhm yes I'm Tillis" "Great!" the voice replies "Where is the Anthro that saved you?" "S...she sacrificed herself to save me" Tillis says clutching the shirt the Anthro wrapped her up in "OK Tillis your safe now you are with us the Anthro's and were taking you to Centre Earth"
"Centre Earth?" Tillis thinks to herself as the Anthro climbs out of the small opening walking towards Tillis. She was tall and slim with purple fur and short red hair, bending down and picking Tillis up in her arms "It's OK Tillis were get you cleaned up and remove those bandages on you" she says to Tillis in a comforting voice as she makes her way to the opening and climbs inside closing it behind her.
